Financial Report tabled by Dave Rowe.
Dave received one question about our assets. Dave Rowe advised that there is a separate asset register but costs are accounted for in the year they are incurred. The issue of whether we should charge for the learner’s board was aired with lots of comment. There were no objections to a small weekly charge being instigated.
Also a discussion about opportunity to approach Pubs Charity for support for events or gear. Agreed that the committee could look into this.

5.0 Special Report: Bruce Spedding President of WNZ
Main functions of WNZ: Advocacy, Ratifying Events, Raise the Profile
Goals: Contact with SPARC, Kids into windsurfing
Noted currently Windsurfing Clubs in Auckland, Invercargill, Christchurch, Wellington, Dunedin, Southern Lakes.
Currently membership of local club gives you free membership to WNZ.
Event Insurance: WNZ are setting up Third Party Insurance for all affiliated windsurfing events. (cost at $2,500)

General Comment:
Yachting Club provide environment for learning. Looking to have windsurfing as a class in the yacht clubs.
Opportunity that we include activities for younger people in the Harbour Blast that the yacht clubs will provide support boats.
Looking to have National Windsurfing focus week. Maybe tied in with a start with TWC. Also maybe an official windsurfing week in February.
Potential for windsurfing event beside the Hutt Valley Seaview marina. One to consider.
6.0 General Business
Events for 2010/2011:
Basically planning to do similar range of events as done in the 2009/2010 year.
Weekly events possibility in the ditch.
Rob keen to organise Thursday evenings in the Ditch commencing at 6pm once daylight saving kicks in. (Shark Bay side) See website for details.
7.0 Interface with Local Authorities
In response to a question there was discussion on our interface with local authorities. The general answer was that we have an interface on matters that affect us but that we often struggle to be heard.
8.0 New Website
